In the neurodivergent community, self-diagnosis is considered a valid diagnosis, and often precedes an official diagnosis.
There are many reasons why someone may not have an official diagnosis, or prefer not to disclose. Sometimes it’s a personal choice. There can also be many barriers to gaining a diagnosis.
